Discover the beautiful combes spread across the Quantocks Hills in the South West of the UK. Only 20mins from Taunton and just over an hour from Bristol the Quantocks offers it all for an epic day on your bike. This trail takes in some amazing views of the Bristol channel and through some of the best natural singletrack in the area.
The start of the day you'll climb up and out of the great wood into the oak forests that surrounds the eery Dead Woman's Ditch. As you continue climbing you'll make it up to Hurley Beacon with views across the Bristol channel to Wales. From here you'll start your first descent down Somerton Combe - a flowing singletrack that opens up once it enters the forest. You'll then cross the river and ride up a steep but short climb till you reach your second descent - Weacombe. This is a flat out fast descent that takes you back down the west side of the hills.

At the bottom of Weacombe you'll traverse across the Coleridge way making your way back over the top of the hills, back into the oak forest and to your last descent before lunch. This last descent is packed full of adrenalin with plenty of roots, and a couple of small drops to keep you on your toes. The trail will spit you out back near the carpark and just up the road from the Foxy Bean Cafe, the perfect lunch spot!

The second part of the day you'll head up into the great wood, climbing up to Triscombe stone car park. Here you can indulge in some more gnar by dropping into the Triscombe forest if you fancy it. This particular route takes you across the Drove rode, an amazing path that crosses the top of the hill.

You'll then make your way back into the open hills where we'll drop into the natural rooty goodness of Holford Combe, before climbing back up to the
pièce de résistance...Bin Combe - An epic flowing singletrack. After you've finished laughing and high fiveing you'll have one last climb back over to the car with the lower section of the trail we hit before lunch to finish off the day.

Trail Respect

  • The trails are all o'natural fun so don't expect any well shaped berms to catch you around the corners, there will be loose and rocky descents, potential branches from trees blown down obstructing trails, and unexpected trail features.
  • This is a popular area for walkers and horse riders, respect trail users and be wary of what is around the corner
  • The combs can become flooded in wet winter/spring months so be wary of high rivers at the bottom of the trails
  • The route takes you up onto the open hill so take spare clothing, the route is subject to high winds, rain and cold temperatures so pack spare kit.
  • This is not a bike park - The route takes you far away from civilisation and emergency access so pack first aid and go steady.
  • Livestock - Sheep and cattle roam the moors so keep an eye on your trail dog.
  • There isn't a stop for water or food until half way round so pack spare water and food  #Leavenotrace #Trashfreetrails
