THE LIGHTHOUSE
EXMOOR NATIONAL PARK

Picture
OVERVIEW
The Lighthouse trip is arguably Trail Unknown's most epic tour, featuring 3 full riding days circumnavigating Exmoor National Park and 2 nights of unique accomodation. The first day is spent riding deep into the wild lands of the South Moor. The second day descends down from the Moor back to the sea front to spend the night in a lighthouse overlooking the Bristol Channel. The final day finishes with Exmoor's classic trails.

SKILL & FITNESS LEVEL
This is an Advanced level tour for Level 3 Fitness, so you can expect continuous days of 40km distance and 1000m of climbing. You should be an experienced mountain biker, comfortable on most types of terrain and will have the skills to ride moderate technical features, such as small rock gardens, small drops, roots and faster sections. Your guide is an expert and will be very happy to give you some bike skills training to help improve your confidence and your enjoyment of your ride. If there is a section that you would prefer not to ride, there's no shame in walking sections of difficult tracks.
'I don't think I have ever been treated to hospitality that was so well planned and thoughtfully put together. From the knowledge of the routes, the quality of the food and lodgings and the evening entertainment to the overwhelming effort that was put in by the whole team to make our weekend so enjoyable.'
